Collectionbuilding Museum Boijmans van Beuningen

06-01-2014

Harry Gugger Studio & BARCODE Architects are together with four other design firms selected to present a sketch design for the new ‘Collection Building Museum Boijmans van Beuningen’. The various projects are now on display in an exhibition at the Museum. End of November an expert jury announces which of the five designs will be realized.

The design of Harry Gugger Studio & BARCODE Architects responds unequivocally to the rich layered urban location and is characterized by a creative and contemporary transformation of the Dutch archetype ‘Pakhuis’ (warehouse). It refers both to the apple orchard of OMA & Yves Brunier’s Museumpark design and to the functional typology of the archetypical Rotterdam harbor depots.
